<aside> đź“Ś This policy applies to all permanent employees of Pento. It does not apply to contractors in the same way, however you should apply much of the same transparency. Particularly, because customer data is part of this assessment.

<aside> ⚠️ You’re responsible for your personal tax status. Before requesting to work overseas for an extended period of time or organising multiple trips across the year, you should check local regulation to ensure that you remain compliant.

<aside> 🍹 For the avoidance of doubt, this policy is here to stop anyone at Pento accidentally experiencing gnarly tax implications, and also to make sure we can fulfil our data protection promises to our customers.

If your country (and the country you’re travelling to) allows for a more generous stay, we will review this and approve where we can. For some countries, there is less of a tax concern than others.

<aside> ⚠️ You're responsible for obtaining appropriate travel insurance for any time that you are working from a different location in accordance with this policy.

Overview

Pento is perfectly set-up to support you working from another country. We’re remote, already work effectively across many timezones, and have a great attitude towards work fitting into life. You may then wish to make the most of this and work (and live!) from a different country, for a short or extended period of time. (We appreciate that when you work from anywhere, you also live there for that time. How awesome is that!)

However, we’re all hired in a specific country and must remain tax compliant (personally tax compliant and for Pento). This policy sets out our Work from Anywhere parameters.

<aside> 🚧 Our policy may differ from what’s possible in your country and local legislation may afford you to spend more time working from another country. In this case, because this policy is here to protect Pento as a company as well as mitigate personal tax risk, you must adhere to what’s outlined in this policy while employed by us, unless agreed between us.

What’s possible

You’re able to work from a different country to the one you are hired in for up to 90 days a year.
